The Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture and Storage Project is a major infrastructure development forming part of the wider HyNet industrial decarbonisation programme.
It will transport carbon dioxide captured from industrial facilities across North West England and North Wales through new and repurposed pipelines, before permanently storing it in depleted natural gas reservoirs beneath Liverpool Bay.
The project will require experienced professionals across a broad range of disciplines throughout its delivery. Opportunities are expected in construction, engineering, project management, health and safety, and technical and commercial functions.
The Liverpool Bay CCS Project will provide the transport and storage infrastructure needed to reduce emissions from major industrial facilities across North West England and North Wales.
The project is also expected to support employment, investment and the development of specialist skills across the region. The wider HyNet cluster has the potential to reduce industrial carbon dioxide emissions by up to 10 million tonnes each year by the 2030s.
The project includes both onshore and offshore infrastructure across North West England, North Wales and Liverpool Bay.
Captured carbon dioxide will travel through a network of new and repurposed pipelines to the Point of Ayr Terminal in Flintshire, before being transported offshore for permanent storage beneath the Liverpool Bay seabed.
The precise location and working arrangements for each role will depend on the relevant phase of the project and the position’s responsibilities.
