UTM Consultants to present on COVID-19 at NOSP AGM

The developing COVID-19 pandemic has had a sudden, unprecedented impact on the world of onshore and offshore work.

Market volatility and widespread restrictions on the global movement of people, goods, and services have presented offshore operators and service providers with stern challenges. Although things are close to "business as usual" in some quarters, elsewhere, the prospects of delayed crew changes and postponed projects are becoming a reality.

This situation raises pressing questions about work in our industry:

  • What is the state of the offshore employment market right now?
  • How will our shared prospects be impacted as we progress towards Q3?
  • What is the longer-term outlook?
  • How might the COVID-19 crisis present us all with new opportunities?

UTM Consultants will be aiming to address some of these questions as Business Manager William Best gives a talk entitled "Employment Market and Outlook during COVID-19" later this month at the Norwegian Forum for Offshore Survey and Positioning (NOSP)'s AGM.

Usually held in Norway, the event on the 23rd of April 2020 will instead be remotely hosted from multiple locations and live-streamed via the NOSP Website. Jointly curated by NOSP and The Hydrographic Society, Scotland (THSiS), it is set to also feature a range of presentations from companies such as Geodata, Pangeo and Norse Asset Solution AS.

NOSP and THSiS are organising an "open chat room" so you can catch-up with your industry colleagues over a virtual beer before, during and after the AGM (visit NOSP's LinkedIn group or website on the day for a link to the Open Chat).

We're delighted to be participating and we're looking forward to (virtually) seeing many of you there.

If you have any questions for us before the event (or if there are any specific aspects you'd like us to address during or after our talk), please drop us a line in advance on info@utmconsultants.com / wb@utmconsultants.com
