Works Manager – Testing & Terminations

UTM Consultants are currently looking for a Works Manager for a 3 month contract, 4 weeks on/off in France.

As a Works Manager, you are responsible for the operational execution of the works on site. You can rely on a team of site superintendents and project engineers. You report directly to the project manager. You focus on the bigger scheme of things whereas the superintendents deal with day to day issues. We are currently looking for an experienced Works Manager who can manage complex offshore Termination & Testing (T&T) scopes, combining strong engineering expertise with practical experience in HV cable pull-ins, terminations, testing and commissioning activities.

 

Project Tasks:

As Works Manager, you will support a T&T scope and be responsible for the offshore execution of HV cable pull-ins, terminations and testing activities. Provide combined offshore installation management and works management for the T&T scope. Act as the single point of accountability for HSE, POB and emergency response, while managing and coordinating daily HV cable pull-in, termination, testing and commissioning support activities in accordance with the approved project execution plan.

 

Primary Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Communicate clearly with project engineers, project management and Clients.
  • Take the responsibility towards organization of the works and ensure they are carried out in accordance to the method statement and in a safe way.
  • Accurately monitor the progress of projects.
  • Assist in the coordination of the work on site, optimize and correct if necessary.
  • Report about budget and cost control in close collaboration with the project manager.

 

Technical profile requirements

  • 7 Years of relevant (offshore) work experience.
  • Strong project management and planning skills.
  • Extensive experience working in Highsafety environments.

 

Non-Technical profile requirements

  • Good communication skills and able to take a critical view towards the works to be carried out.
  • Work well in teams, where you are able to support the other persons in your team and lead the workforce in the field.

 

Methodology/Certification requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.
  • Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Chester Step
  • STCW BAsic Safety Training

 

Language proficiencies

  • Fluent in Dutch is preferres and a very strong asset
  • Fluent proficiency in English is required (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in other languages is a plus.

 

The project is due to start on 1st September 2026 and will last approx. 12 weeks
