UTM is looking for an OT Security Engineer

Location

  • Primary work location: Poland (Warsaw office)

  • On-site presence required minimum 2 days per week

  • International travel covered by the client, countries include Vietnam, Denmark, and other locations

Role Overview

The OT Security Officer will support the development, application, and assurance of Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security requirements across the project lifecycle. The role is responsible for conducting OT Cyber Security Risk Assessments, tracking remediation actions, and gathering evidence to support the OPS transfer process.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to a practitioner with strong experience in OT environments, capable of performing risk assessments, validating controls, and working directly with operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform OT Cyber Security Risk Assessments in line with applicable standards and legislation

  • Track remediation actions and mitigation measures, ensuring timely closure and appropriate evidence capture

  • Support the development of remediation and mitigation plans based on identified risks

  • Advise on the selection, implementation, and prioritisation of OT security controls

  • Support subject matter experts and stakeholders across other teams in understanding and applying OT security requirements

  • Provide clear guidance on OT cyber security expectations, controls, and compliance obligations

  • Contribute to documentation and assurance activities supporting the OPS transfer process

  • Operate effectively within complex, multi-disciplinary project teams and challenging operational environments

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

  • 5+ years’ experience working with or adjacent to Operational Technology environments

  • Proven hands-on experience in OT Cyber Security

  • Strong understanding of SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial automation networks

  • Solid knowledge of OT security standards and frameworks, including IEC 62443 and ISO 27000 series

  • Understanding of legislation relating to Critical National Infrastructure

  • Up-to-date knowledge of Polish NIS2 (NI2) legislation

  • Experience implementing complex technical solutions in challenging or constrained environments

  • Experience working effectively within complex, multi-stakeholder teams

  • Experience as an end user of technical solutions, particularly in operational or industrial environments

Additional / Desirable Experience

  • Strong understanding of network and systems security, including configuration and hardening

  • Experience with application security in industrial or OT contexts

  • Exposure to the energy sector, particularly projects involving national or critical infrastructure

  • Comfortable operating in operational environments rather than purely advisory roles

  • Strong communicator, able to translate security requirements into practical actions

  • Able to work independently while integrating effectively within wider project teams

The project is due to start on 1st February 2026 and will last approx. 40 weeks
