UTM Consultants are looking for a HV Technician, to assist our client with their offshore wind project offshore, USA. 

Your position 

In your new position as HV Technician in the Renewables Division, you will be a valuable member of the dedicated HV Service Team who specializes in providing electrical services for both onshore and offshore wind projects.

Your team is dedicated to testing Power Systems and modifications and plays a crucial role in our efforts to establish ourselves as a leading service provider in the rapidly growing offshore wind industry. In this role, you will function as a Technician within the High Voltage electrical field and get the chance to work with many exciting and complex systems.

Place of employment will be out of our US office in Massachusetts and the work will be both onshore and offshore maintaining service tasks on substations. The position is full-time, and you can expect to travel 100+ days per year.

Your tasks & responsibilities 

As HV Technician, you will have a variety of Service and Maintenance tasks on On- and Offshore Substations and Wind Turbines.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to Electrical Services from Low Voltage to 220kV primarily in the following areas.

  • Maintenance of both Onshore and Offshore Substations (OSS) and Wind Turbines (WTG)
  • Service tasks on Switchgears and Transformers
  • Test of protection devices such as relay, circuit brakers etc.
  • Provide feedback to Project Management
  • Supporting and adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards, in all activities

Your profile & qualifications

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • An educational background as an Electrician
  • Experience in working with Medium and High Voltage Cables, Transformers and Switchgear
  • Substation experience
  • Documented Switching experience on High voltage equipment is advantageous
