UTM Consultants are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support offshore wind site characterisation and jack-up installation assessments on a major project.
The role is London-based, with a minimum requirement of three days per week in the office (negotiable for strong candidates). All work will be carried out under client quality assurance procedures and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:

Review leg penetration and spudcan–quay wall interaction analyses provided by consultants

Review vessel suitability and leg penetration assessments
-
Conduct high-level jack-up installation assessments using in-house tools and methods
-
Support scoping, planning, and execution of offshore geotechnical site investigations

Analyse and interpret large geotechnical datasets
-
Deliver high-quality site characterisations and engineering soil/rock properties
-
Support laboratory testing programmes and offshore investigations
-
Contribute to engineering assessments for jack-up installations
-
Produce and review Geotechnical Interpretation Reports (GIRs)

Support foundation and cable design interfaces

Undertake ad-hoc tasks aligned with site characterisation and engineering activities
Candidates must demonstrate:

Proven experience in offshore site characterisation
-
Strong background in analysing in situ and laboratory test data
-
In-depth experience in planning and executing offshore geotechnical investigations

Advanced knowledge of leg penetration analyses and jack-up engineering assessments

Experience processing and validating geotechnical data, including AGS formats
-
Proven experience authoring GIRs
-
Solid understanding of geotechnical inputs for foundation and cable design

Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel

High personal accountability and ownership

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Fluency in spoken and written English

Working Arrangements:

Primary location: London office

Minimum: 3 days per week on-site
