UTM Consultants are looking for a 275kV Senior Authorised Person in Poland on an 18 month contract.

Responsible for HV system integration, operational supervision and electrical safety rules (HV/MV/LV). Ensure safety when working with HV and LV systems. Review RAMS and method statements. Act as a HV Authorised Person.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for electrical issues according to the affected country’s legislation and regulations.
  • Delegate scopes of work for the whole team of Transmission Specialists on site, covering both offshore and onshore work scopes.
  • Responsible for and managing rotaplans for all Transmission Specialists and Operators on site.
  • Lead all improvements to instructions and site-specific instructions related to high-voltage electrical operations on site.
  • Implement the Client Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work.
  • Advise operationally on high-voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations, and both HV submarine and onshore cables.
  • Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations, and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment.
  • Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security, and integrity of the HV network.
  • Contribute to proactive management, good coordination, and communication between all parties, ensuring the process works effectively.
  • Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages.
  • Advise operationally on high-voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations, and both HV submarine and onshore cables.
  • Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security, and integrity of the HV network.
  • Oversee and delegate the planning of all switching activities on site, covering both offshore and onshore activities.
  • Control the safety documents for the Electrical Safety Rules on site.
  • Define safety procedures for electrical matters.
  • Delegate tasks to Operators on site, who oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations, and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment.
  • Review the high-voltage scope of work.
  • Knowledge and experience of country-specific standards.

Tasks

  • Ensure compliance with and management of Client Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Provide safety coordination in electrical matters.
  • Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings.
  • Act as Senior Authorised Person.
  • Manage outages and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers.
  • Prepare and check high-voltage switching schedules.
  • Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams.
  • Inspect worksites and perform site safety inspections and audits for electrical matters.
  • Check method statements for electrical matters.
  • Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules.
  • Mentor HV APs during field training.

Deliverables

  • Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents, including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans.
  • Participation in different audits.
  • Reports from FAT and SAT on the different high-voltage equipment.
  • On-site check of switching programmes.
  • Participation in the planning of resources and work activities.
  • Participation in authorisations and assessments of new candidates.
  • Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects.

Decision Authority

  • Final say in relation to MV/HV switching and isolations.
  • Issue Client Electrical Safety Rules safety documents.
  • Organisation and management of the SAP permit office, including all operational staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high-voltage electricity; offshore experience preferable.
  • Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorisation scope.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience within onshore substation systems.
  • Complete and up-to-date GWO courses and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site

The project is due to start on 1st October 2026 and will last approx. 72 weeks
