|We are seeking an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor to assist with mainly short duration (1-3 days) field based surveys. Candidates would also work, when not in the field, in our clients office assisting with data processing, project planning, reporting and general assistance with the day to day running of our clients busy small company. The majority of our clients work involves multibeam surveying so the successful candidate will need to be conversant with this technology. Experience in side scan sonar and other survey types will certainly be beneficial. The role on offer required adaptability and flexibility. Hours are often long and working times dictated by tides and weather.
The successful candidate will be based or willing to relocate within an easy commuting distance to our clients office, south coast, United Kingdom. They will have experience in a variety of survey disciplines and therefore require minimal training following systems and procedural introduction. They will hold formal survey qualifications (e.g. IHO Cat A or B). They will be good at problem solving, adaptable and able to think on their feet. Experience in data acquisition and processing is essential. Experience in CAD is preferable. Experience also on small survey vessels would be of significant benefit. Boat handling experience, RYA / MCA Commercial endorsement would be advantageous as would holding a DVLA Driving License with towing endorsement.
